Position Overview

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our growing Financial Services team as a Financial Specialist.

Job Purpose: 
The Financial Specialist collects, analyzes, and processes financial data so that our school district clients maximize reimbursements available through the Medicaid to Schools Program. Financial Specialists must ensure compliance to state and federal regulations by using a traceable methodology in analyzing data and processing cost reports in a way that is accurate and audit-ready. In sum, the Financial Specialist acts as MSB’s expert of school districts’ cost report financial data.  

Work LocationAustin, TX (North)

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (M-F)

Travel Requirements: 5% 

Compensation$1,730.77 - $2,000.00/bi-weekly ($45,000 - $52,000/annualized), plus profit sharing

Your Impact
  • Coordinate the collection of districts’ SHARS cost report data to facilitate analysis.
  • Log, analyze and process districts’ SHARS cost report data.  
  • Validating cost report data through a variety of methodologies to ensure accuracy and maximization of reimbursement due to school districts through the Medicaid to Schools Program.
  • Serve as cost report experts to the Client Relations team and our clients by providing analysis of districts’ data for annual cost reporting. Support Program Directors by coordinating the completion of the annual cost report.
  • Provide analysis and logging of districts’ data for annual cost reporting and cost report appeals.
  • Partner with Client Relations team to ensure audit readiness of districts’ financial data and audit requests are responded to accurately and within deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communicating pleasantly and effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Preference for Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, or similar field
